Artistic Director

Cameron J. Rolling boasts a multi-faceted career as an emerging operatic baritone, professional chorister, and conductor. He currently serves as the Director of Music at Village Church on Antioch in Overland Park, KS and the Artistic Director of the Northland Community Choir in Parkville, MO. He also sings with multiple Missouri-based choral ensembles including the Spire Chamber Ensemble, Prometheus, and Missouri Choral Artists. This summer he will be at the Glimmerglass Festival in upstate New York as a young artist where he will perform in three of their main-stage productions. In the fall of 2024, Cameron will begin his first season with the Detroit Opera as a Resident Artist.  Last summer, Cameron participated in the prestigious Merola Opera Program as a young artist where he performed Junius in Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia. His recent performances include Guglielmo in Mozart’s Così fan tutte as well as featured soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Jesu Meine Freude, and Mendelssohn’s Elijah. In addition to being a vocal and choral artist, he frequently does workshops across the U.S. as a teaching artist with the Voces8 Educational Foundation.

Cameron holds two Master of Music degrees in Choral Conducting and Vocal Performance from UMKC Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education with concentrations in voice and conducting from Mercer University.

Pianist

Naren Palomino Pardo a native of Cochabamba, Bolivia, he studied music at the Academia Nacional de Música, “Man Césped.” After his graduation, he joined the faculty of the music academy, where he taught piano and ear training. He was also the accompanist for the Children’s Choir and Youth Choir and the conductor of the “Man Césped” Percussion ensemble, Folk Orchestra, and Symphony Orchestra.

In 2018 he was accepted into the University of Central Arkansas (UCA), where he studied under Dr. Neil Rutman. At UCA, Naren was the pianist for the UCA Wind Ensemble, UCA Percussion Ensemble, UCA Studio Jazz ensemble, the Conway Symphony Orchestra, and others. Naren placed honorable mention in the UCA Concerto/Aria Competition and won first place in the UCA Wind Ensemble Student Spotlight Competition, allowing him to perform Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” alongside the university’s Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Michael Hancock. Naren Palomino was the winner of the 2022 Matthay Association Competition, a festival held in Duluth, Minnesota, in which he had master classes with Prof. John Perry and Prof. Aiko Onishi. In May 2022, he graduated with honors from UCA with a BM in Piano Performance. In August 2022, he started his studies for a Master of Music (M.M.) in Piano Performance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory under the teaching of Prof. Sean. Chen. At UMKC Conservatory, Naren Palomino was the rehearsal pianist for the Opera at the conservatory and now he is a collaborative pianist for instrumentalist, he is the pianist for the UMKC Conservatory Symphony Orchestra and he is a piano instructor at the UMKC Conservatory Academy.

Assistant Director

Noah Phillips is currently in the final year of his studies at the University of Missouri Kansas-City Conservatory pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with an emphasis in choral music with a minor in Psychology. This is his second season as a choral intern with the Northland Community Choir, but prior to this, he was an intern with the Youth Chorus of Kansas City for two years. He had the privilege of conducting at the South Western American Choral Directors Association as a participant of the undergraduate conducting masterclass. Next semester Noah will be Student Teaching at Liberty North High School. Following graduation next spring, Noah plans to either pursue a job at a high school or pursue his master in conducting. Noah enjoys watching movies and spending quality time with his partner and their three cats.
